The struggling economy has led to many cuts in institutional funding, causing many more charities to engage in last minute donor appeals than usual. Thankfully, with the close of the year and the pursuit of last minute tax deductions, comes an increased opportunity to seek help and receive it. Make it Emotional and Then Some: It is okay to provide a highlight of stories/cases that have benefitted from your nonprofit’s services and let that be your lead, but be sure to back up those stories with data and evidence that demonstrates your activities are creating change for the long haul – share not just your outputs, but your outcomes.
