Quaker Steak & Lube is hosting “Make a Difference” every Monday and Wednesday for organizations that are looking for fundraising opportunities. 

How would it work? 

20% of Lunch sales, and 10% of Dinner sales for that designated Monday or Wednesday will go to your organization.

The Marketing Manager, Nic Berrios, will make a specific PDF flyer for your organization that can be emailed and printed out for distribution. (Sample Below).

Hogg Foundation Announces RFP for Mental Health Awareness Projects in African-American Faith-Based Communities

The program will support projects designed to improve awareness and perceptions of mental health, recovery, and wellness in African-American communities. To be eligible, applicants must be a Texas-based 501(c)(3) organization with access to African-American congregants who regularly participate in spiritual or worship services and activities. The primary mission of the organization should be to enhance the spiritual growth of congregants rather than a focus on education or social services. All denominations and creeds are eligible to apply. The goals of the initiative are to expand African-American faith-based programs and ministries in Texas to include mental health by educating congregants about mental health, recovery, and wellness; identifying local behavioral health resources for treatment and support; connecting congregants to behavioral health resources; and supporting faith leaders in addressing their own mental wellness and responses to stress. Healthy Smiles, Healthy Children Invites Applications for 2015 Access to Care Grants

Matching grants of up to $20,000 each will be awarded to support community-based initiatives that provide dental care to underserved children.

Funds may be applied to cover costs of clinic supplies and instruments, patient/parent education materials, take-home supplies (toothbrushes, toothpaste, etc.), education and/or outreach to recruit dentist participation in program activities, and/or other activity with clear, direct impact on pediatric oral health care.

To be eligible, applicants must be a United States-based nonprofit organization or local government agency that provides dental services to children in the U.S. or its territories. Projects should have pediatric dentist involvement. If a pediatric dentist is not participating, a general dentist must be involved for funding consideration.

Home Depot Foundation Offers Grants to Support the Housing Needs of Military Veterans

Grants of up to $5,000 in the form of Home Depot gift cards will be awarded to volunteer-driven projects designed to help veterans stay in their homes comfortably. Community Impact grants support a range of activities, including repairs, refurbishments, and modifications to low-income and/or transitional veteran’s housing or community facilities; weatherizing and other efforts to increase the energy efficiency of low-income and/or transitional veterans’ housing or community facilities; and planting trees or community gardens and/or landscaping community facilities that serve veterans. Grants must support work completed by local volunteers in U.S. communities and must specifically benefit veterans.

Only registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, tax-exempt public schools, and tax-exempt public agencies in the U.S. are eligible to apply.
