Waco ISD Cares is a fast pitch forum for Waco’s most promising nonprofit organizations looking for access to Waco ISD staff contributions. The high-energy event is a platform for local groups to present information about their work, and be chosen as an eligible entity for payroll deduction contributions. The premise of the event is to have a competition for an opportunity to make a presentation about a cause, and have the winner be eligible for Waco ISD Payroll deduction donations. Booth Invitations to Nonprofits for Vanguard College Preparatory School’s Community Service Fair Day

Vanguard has always believed in the value of community service and teaching youth about the importance of giving back. We recognize that Waco has an array of nonprofit organizations and that families may not be aware of these benefits within the Waco area. With this in mind, we are excited to announce a Community Service Fair Day on October 7, 2015 on our campus. We would be honored to have you be a part of this Community Service Fair Day. Please read through the event details below and reply back at to join.

Waco area nonprofit organizations will be invited to have a booth at the Community Service Fair Day. Organizations will be provided with a table, tablecloth, chairs, snacks and lunch.

Why attend? Inform youth about your organization and provide information about volunteering opportunities.

Who is invited? Vanguard School students and parents. Public and private schools with students in grades 7-12 will be invited to send up to 10 students to this event.

Community Service Day Schedule:

  • 10:00 AM-10:30 AM Check-in
  • 10:30 AM-11:00 AM Set up of booth for nonprofit attendees
  • 11:00 AM  Welcome from Vanguard announcement
  • 11:10 AM  Community Service fair opens
  • 11:10 AM-12:30 PM Community Service Fair
  • 12:30 PM-1:00 PM Take down of booth

AFP National Philanthropy Deadline extended!

The deadline for National Philanthropy Day nominations has been extended through Friday, July 31. Individuals may nominate within the following categories: Lifetime Achievement Award, Philanthropist of the Year, Outstanding Philanthropic Business/Corporation, Outstanding Community Service Organization, Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser, Outstanding Foundation, Outstanding Fundraising Professional and Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy (ages 5-18). Nomination forms can be found online at and all nominations are due by 5 p.m. on Friday, July 31. National Philanthropy Day will be held Thursday, November 12, at Ridgewood Country Club.

McGregor Bank Seeks 2015 Charity Champions Nominations

Each fall, McGregor Bank selects six nonprofits as a Charity Champion in the Bell, Coryell or McLennan county. Press Release.
To benefit from this selection, the nonprofit will have a live, on-field presentation at a Baylor home football game, maximum organization exposure and a 360 Solutions executive training for the staff and leadership of each Charity Champion organization.
During 2014, CASA of McLennan and Hill CountiesAVANCE WacoGenerations AdoptionsFamily Abuse CenterWaco Habitat for Humanity and Meal & Wheels Waco were named Charity Champions. Each organization was recognized during the six 2014 Baylor University football games played at home during the inaugural season of McLane Stadium.
