5th Round of the LeadershipPLENTY® Institute-Waco’s Approaching — Applications are Due August 10!

The LeadershipPLENTY® Institute-Waco (LPI) is a leadership training program sponsored by Today’s Action Tomorrow’s Leaders (TATL). TATL specifically targets individuals with a passion and interest in the continued development of our community.
LPI utilizes a nationally recognized curriculum designed to enable individuals of varying backgrounds, occupations and experiences to confidently identify problems in their communities and implement a plan of action to address those problems. The program provides practical tools for developing and strengthening civic leadership skills, as well as enhancing other qualities of leadership.
We will be accepting applications now through August 10 and selected participants will be notified before September 1.

Have you heard of .ONG & .NGO Domains? You probably should…

Did you know that more nonprofits (many of which work with international audiences) are starting to acquire “.ong” and “.ngo” domains?

In‘s article, they share insightful information about these new domains.

On May 6th, the entity known as Public Interest Registry (PIR), which administers the .org top-level domain, the world’s third-largest “generic” top-level domain, officially launched the new .ngo and .ong domains, now available to nonprofits internationally.

Already over 1,400 .ong and .ngo domain names have been registered by non-governmental organizations, nonprofits, and charities around the world. These unique domains could give an organization more trust and credibility online in a space where charity scams are becoming increasingly more common. Read more here.

Drucker Institute Invites Applications for 2015 Award for Nonprofit Innovation

DEADLINE: July 1, 2015

The Drucker Institute at Claremont Graduate University is accepting applications for the 2015 Peter F. Drucker Award for Nonprofit Innovation, an annual award that recognizes a nonprofit organization that best demonstrates Peter Drucker’s definition of innovation as “change that creates a new dimension of performance.”

The award, which includes an unrestricted cash prize of $100,000, recognizes an existing program that has made a difference in the lives of the people it serves and is granted to the nonprofit organization that best demonstrates innovation.

To be eligible, organizations must be considered tax exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

TANO is once again sponsoring a Texas-centric compensation survey which is part of a national effort to gather information to inform nonprofit best practices in setting compensation ranges for various nonprofit positions.
