Ready for 2013? -Data’s Growing Importance

Recently, the Chronicle of Philanthropy provided its readers with their list of “5 Things That Will Change the Way Nonprofits Work in 2013”. This week, we’ll take a look at Issue #4 and determine what you can do to help get ahead of the curve.

  • Data’s Growing Importance – whether it is due to a reduction in dollars available for nonprofit support or the adoption of better practices by individual and institutional donors, the shift from “support for efforts” to “support for outcomes” is underway.  So the savvy nonprofit will realize that on-going data collection and evaluation are must haves for the future and will work to ensure that their charity has a plan in place for evaluating their efforts, incorporating lessons learned in the their program delivery model and marketing both of those pieces to their growing public.
