Online Giving Campaigns Tip #1
The reports continue to roll in – online giving is growing faster than any other type of donation method out there these days. In a recent article, The Chronicle of Philanthropy shared some of the ways nonprofits are capitalizing on this trend.
Tip #1: Studies are showing that those who give monthly not only give more funds but also tend to give longer (more likely to be multi-year givers), so if your website makes space for online giving, consider making the monthly/recurring gift option the default option for givers and having one time gifts be something they have to self-select. Be sure the giving options are clearly marked though so that givers don’t feel tricked into committing to you for the long-term…there is a fine line between suggesting and forcing!
